The SouthtownStar posted an article about “Google-itis,” which is a cutesy term for Internet-fueled hypochondria and/or self-diagnosis. It hit home a bit, as it made me think of a loved one going through the same thing. Hypochondria aside, “google-itis” can be dangerous.

It’s not often I come across a specimen of modern art that moves me. Yet, I can’t stop thinking about Nature by Numbers by Cristobal Vila. As breathtaking and beautifully crafted as Cristobal’s imagery is, the soundtrack deserves equal billing. Often a Bird is a beautiful piece of music by Wim Mertens. It’s definitely worth a watch.

I want to say a few things about my last post. Specifically, I don’t believe all followers of organized religions are crazy assholes. In fact, I respect some of those I know personally. Also, the same (crazy asshole) is true of atheists. Let me explain.

Matt and I watched District 9 last night. I’ll be blunt: those who proclaimed it “the best SciFi movie of 2009″ are either smoking crack or drinking “the fluid”. I enjoyed the Star Trek film far more.
